Herb Paynter, Jr. founded Colony Construction in 1995 with a vision to provide quality craftsmanship at competitive prices. You can see examples of this craftsmanship throughout Ford's Colony, Kingsmill, and Governors Landing. Colony Construction has continued that standard of excellence adding a new division to their company that focuses on roofing throughout Newport News and the surrounding areas. Herb values education and keeps up with manufacturer certifications as well as, staying informed about new products on the market ensuring Colony uses quality materials for construction projects.

Tina Paynter
Tina Paynter graduated from Christopher Newport University in Virginia with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Financial Management. Her education has had a tremendous impact on the business' growth. Tina has a firm belief that customer service is the key driver to our success. She always says “I concentrate on the relationship with the client while my husband stays focused on the quality and scope of the project management.” We make a great team!
